At Human Ventures, we believe deeply in the power of technology to move humanity forward, but we also know at the core it’s all about the Humans who make it happen. Which is why we co-found companies with founders who are hungry and gutsy enough to roll up their sleeves and pursue the massive opportunities that await.
We’re currently looking for experienced builders and visionaries (super Humans) to join us as our next founder-in-residence.
We’re not just a studio, we’re a co-founder.
Human Ventures is a New York-based venture studio that builds and backs world class companies with exceptional entrepreneurs. Our studio model and human-centered design process offers founders a unique platform to build and launch their next company.
As a founder, you have access to our workshop team that sprints alongside you to uncover unique Human insights and the big market opportunities within your space. You then have a team to collaborate with and to test and prototype rapidly in the early days — getting you to conviction and concept validation faster. Once you’ve identified that white space? Our Studio and Network teams get your core business and advisor and investor network up and running in half the time you would have on your own.
By leveraging the Human platform, founders are able to focus on what they do best, knowing that Human Ventures always has your back. Just ask some of our amazing co-founders: Megan O’Connor & Sam Gimbel (Co-founders, Clark), Greg Hong (Founder, Reserve), Jonathan Jarvis(Founder, Token) and more.
Do you have the guts?
We’re looking for founders who bring a diversity of thought, experience, perspectives, background and talents; because we know from experience that opposing view points results in stronger outcomes.
With that in mind, if you respond “that’s me!” to any of the options below, we need to talk:
You’ve founded a company before and are looking for a platform to identify and launch your next opportunity.
You’ve “put in your time” for big industry / corporate America and are looking to put your skills and expertise towards a mission of your own.
You’ve seen what it takes to build an startup as an early employee and are eager to roll the dice yourself.
You answered #1 — The Serial Entrepreneur:
You’ve founded and built a business from the ground up, perhaps selling to a competitor or exiting early; either way, you’re ready to suit up and get back into the arena.
You know your core strengths, but you also know when and how to seek help from co-founders and team mates.
You know how you would approach it differently this time around.
You’re dead set on founding a company but haven’t found a space that grabs you, and would benefit from a structured process or thought partner to discover the next BIG thing.
Must haves: Founder and/or C-suite (CEO, CTO, CPO, COO, CMO, etc.) of VC-backed early stage startup(s)
You answered #2 — Entrepreneur in Corporate Clothing :
You’re considered a thought leader and go-to expert in your industry.
Your years in the industry exposed you to a unique insight and/or area that is deeply broken and ripe for disruption.
While your resume communicates corporate, you’re a rebel and entrepreneur at heart (e.g. you built a new business line within your organization, explored a side hustle, opened a new regional office, etc.)
Must haves: Senior position in given industry, with likely Director/VP/C-suite level experience
You answered #3 — The Person-Behind-the-Person:
You’ve been on the ground floor of a growing startup and understand the sheer horsepower, passion and ingenuity it takes to succeed.
You were so integral to the success of your last startup that the founders tried everything they could to keep you (daily massages? personal chef?).
You believe deeply in: customer experience, flawless operation and execution, delightful products, and team building.
Must haves: Founding team (<10 ppl) experience at a rapidly growing startup OR Director/VP-level experience across several startups
