New York, NY (May 9, 2016) — Human Ventures, an NYC based startup studio, today announced that it is adding three humans to its network of inspired people. Jonathan Jarvis, formerly of Google Creative Labs, Juliet Frerking, formerly of Sherpaa Health, and model turned entrepreneur Jess Perez are now a part of the company’s flourishing human capital. Jarvis and Frerking will lead the next portfolio company to originate out of Human Ventures, set to publicly launch this Fall.
“Human Ventures is built on the premise that great companies can become a reality with surrounding a phenomenal founder with the right network of people,” said Heather Hartnett, CEO of Human Ventures. “We are thrilled to welcome Jonathan, Juliet and Jess to the Human Ventures family to add to the ecosystem we’re building in New York wherein industries can learn from each other and enable technology to provide us with better, more fulfilling lives.”
Jarvis and Frerking will serve as CEO and VP of Operations, respectively, of a new company in the digital assistant space. As former Creative Director of Google’s Creative Lab, Jarvis led projects like Google’s new logo and identity rebrand and worked across Google’s assistive products like Voice Search, Google Now and Search Actions.
“What sets Human Ventures apart is its ability to complement founders. They’re amazing at connecting people and building teams around your skills” said Jarvis. “I look forward to collaborating with the Human Ventures community.”
Frerking comes from Sherpaa Health, the personalized tele-medical concierge, where she was the startup’s third employee. At Sherpaa, Frerking was responsible for sales, overseeing the doctors & specialists, and managing operations and compliance. Previously, she worked in operations at Craft Coffee and in production at Good Sense and Co. Prior to working in the tech sector, she spent four years at Oppenheimer Funds
Working on a separate company co-founded with Human is fashion model turned tech entrepreneur Jessica Perez, who has over fourteen years of freelancing experience, with her successful career as a model working for publications such as Victoria’s Secret, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, Elle, and Cosmopolitan. An active member of the Freelancer’s Union and a leading voice on issues affecting the freelance economy, Perez is building a soon to be announced company that will leverage her unique skill set.
“These new hires underscore Human Ventures’ commitment to bringing on the most skilled entrepreneurs to co-found conscientious, value-focused businesses,” said Joe Marchese, Human Ventures’ Executive Chairman.
The Human Ventures team, led by Hartnett, is building and supporting six carefully selected companies, leveraging a customized approach for each depending on the stage and team that’s in place. Hartnett was recently named one of the “50 Most Influential Women in America” by a Hearst Publication. For more information on Human Ventures go to http://www.humanventures.co/.
